Abstract: Magnesium and its alloys are of great interest for the study of their properties, in particular, necessary for the development of technologies for the manufacture of products in demand. This paper presents the results of studies of the plasticity of magnesium alloy MA2-1 based on the results of torsion tests of cylindrical specimens. A technique is proposed for measuring strain inhomogeneity along the specimens. Based on a comparison of the data on the distribution of shear strain and the loading diagram, the value of ultimate plasticity was established equal to Λult = 0.34...0.36. © 2022 Author(s).
