Separation of high-purity phenanthrene and anthracene from the anthracene fraction of coal tar

Abstract

The separation of high-purity phenanthrene and anthracene from mixtures obtained in the rectification of the first anthracene fraction from coal tar is considered. The method employed is selective deposition from an aqueous solution of the anthracene-phenanthrene mixture with organic solvent. © 2012 Allerton Press, Inc.
