Abstract:	In this article relations between a teacher and a pupil what were one of the forms of intellectual dialogue in Byzantium are considered. Teaching is analyzed on an example of studying of relations of the Byzantine author and the politician of XIVth century by Demetrios Kydones with his pupils.
