Священник и колдун в русской урало-сибирской народной культуре: о символическом языке обрядов посвящения

Abstract

The article is concerned with the perception of the image of the priest and the sorcerer in Russian folk culture of the Urals and Siberian regions. The author draws upon the materials of symbolism and initiation of the priest and the sorcerer and arrives at the conclusion that their perception in Russian folk culture was ambivalent. One can trace a certain architypical unity in the formation of the images which njakes it possible to speak of the survivals of priestly initiations in the minds of residents of the Urals and Siberian regions going back to the myths about a cultural hero.
