Abstract: | Road transport is one of the main air pollutants. Its share in the total volume of air emissions from stationary and mobile sources in Russia is higher than the share of any industry. In addition to emissions into the atmosphere, each stage of the life cycle of vehicles is accompanied by the formation of a significant amount of waste that is dangerous to the environment. To prevent the negative impact of road transport on the environment, it is necessary to develop a unified integrated approach that would make it possible to use with maximum efficiency various measures to improve environmental friendliness at all stages of the life cycle, not being limited only to emissions into the atmosphere. It is proposed to introduce a comprehensive assessment of the impact of road transport on the environment based on the volume of emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, soil and wastewater. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
