Abstract:	With the high growth of the oil-producing and oil-refining industry, the issue of oil spills, their consequences and liquidation methods is quite acute. There is a method for carbonaceous wastes processing with the use of magnetite preparing an oil sorbent is presented. The article describes in detail the characteristics of the raw materials; the comparison of the sorbent with magnetite and without is given.
