Abstract: System engineering is a special area of engineering that focuses on large interdisciplinary projects and ensures the success of complex systems throughout their life cycle (from conception to decommissioning). The IIIrd Annual International Conference on "System Engineering" was dedicated to the problems of implementing system engineering in the industry and preparing engineers who possess the competence of it. A system engineer's role requires them to ensure: (1) meeting the real needs of the parties interested in the system by using advanced technologies both in the system itself and in the processes of its development, production, maintenance, modernization and replacement (decommissioning); (2) completion and coordination of the documentation and implementation of the target system throughout its life cycle between all users, customer representatives, investors, and other stakeholders; (3) cohesion, organization, and effective work with the project team. Teaching globally competitive system engineers requires creating a modern educational environment as a place for collaboration, coworking and communication, and implementing the TLD (Thinking Learning Doing) educational concept on this basis, according to which the learning process is most effectively implemented in the process of solving non-standard tasks that require maximum mental effort. The world's resources are fully used for education, both in the mode of open platforms and academic mobility. The conference discusses not only the use of system engineering approaches in solving specific tasks of enterprises but also the issues of training engineers who possess system engineering competencies and developing their "Soft and Self Skills," including critical thinking, problem-solving, creative thinking, ability to learn independently, effective communication, and teamwork. The main goal of the conference was to consolidate efforts in the field of education, business, and government to create human resources that can ensure the competitiveness of enterprises in the conditions of digital transformation.
