Abstract: The development of industrial enterprises environmental management systems (EMS) is accompanied by the search for new approaches to solving the environmental problems and introduction of new principles and tools for managing environmental aspects, also increasing the role of business processes in solving environmental problems. One of the directions of development of modern EMS is the transition to the principles of environmental responsibility and long-term environmental efficiency. An important role in this issue is played by the development of employee management processes in EMS and the transition from the operational tasks of employee training to enhancing environmental engagement and developing an environmental culture. The article considers the main approaches and principles of management and development of human resources in modern EMS. The article presents a model of working with employees with a focus on increasing engagement and environmental culture.
