Фольклорные истоки лимериков Э. Лира

Abstract

В статье рассматривается происхождение лимерика как жанра абсурдной поэзии. Отец-основатель жанра лимерик Э. Лир обратился к фольклорной традиции. Он использовал образцы нонсенс-поэзии из сборников «Mother Goose's melody» (1760) и «Anecdotes and Adventures of Fifteen Gentlemen» (1822), что проявляется на формальном и семантическом уровнях его лимериков.

This article discusses the origin of limerick as a genre of absurd poetry. The founding father of the genre of limerick E. Lear turned to the folklore tradition. He used samples of nonsense verse from the poetry books “Mother Goose‟s melody” (1760) and “Anecdotes and Adventures of Fifteen Gentlemen” (1822), which appears at the formal and semantic levels of his limericks.
