Abstract:	The article describes the development aspects of hot strip and plate mills for production of sheets with unique properties. Consider the scheme of arrangement of equipment of hot strip mills different generations. Consider the features of the production technology of pipe steels on a modern plate mill 5000 JSC "MMK". It is shown that the further development of the technology of rolling sheet must go through the creation of high-strength structural economically steels with a tensile strength of 1000 MPa or more.
