Энциклопедия перелома: Уральская советская энциклопедия как отражение эпохи краеведения в СССР

Abstract

В ходе исследования об издании региональных советских энциклопедий в 1920–1930-х гг. было выявлено, что их судьба осталась незавершенной в результате разгрома краеведческого движения по всей стране в этот период. На основе архивных документов была рассмотрена история подготовки и издания Уральской советской энциклопедии, публикация которой была прекращена после выхода в свет первого тома. Особое внимание было уделено деструктивной роли цензуры в региональном книгоиздании, которая наиболее ярко продемонстрировала несовместимость советской партийной идеологии и изучения конкретной локальной истории. Особое внимание уделяется обстановке в стране с середины 1930-х, ожесточенной борьбе с инакомыслием, поиску врагов народа и цензуре в книгоиздании региона. Этот случай показывает, что советская партийная идеология и научное исследование не всегда могут сосуществовать и что поиск правды может стать сложной задачей в условиях политической репрессии.

During the study of the publication of regional Soviet encyclopedias of the 1920s and 1930s, it was revealed that their fate remained incomplete as a result of the defeat of the local history movement throughout the country during this period. Based on archival documents, the history of the preparation and publication of the Ural Soviet Encyclopedia was reviewed, the publication of which was discontinued after the publication of the first volume. Special attention was paid to the destructive role of censorship in regional book publishing, which most vividly demonstrated the incompatibility of Soviet party ideology and the study of specific local history. Special attention is paid to the role of the situation in the country since the mid-1930s, the fierce struggle against dissent, the search for enemies of the people and censorship in the book publishing of the region. This case shows that Soviet party ideology and scientific research cannot always coexist, and that the search for truth can become a difficult task in conditions of political repression.
