Abstract:	The efficiency of biochemical oxidation of aqueous model solutions of two brands of well-known detergents (Active Foam and Car Wash (Amway)) used in the technology of car washing is investigated. It was found that the degree of destruction of detergents by adapted heterotrophic microflora, determined by COD (bichromate oxidability), is about 75 %. The decrease in surface tension during the biodestruction of model detergent solutions is insignificant due to the shielding effect of metabolites of the biocenosis vital activity.
