Abstract

The ability to apply a nitrile-degrading bacteria as a bioindicator of environmental pollution was tested. Bioassay based on bioluminescence was used to assess the toxicity. In the soils of the natural environment found far fewer nitrile­degrading microorganisms than in soils of industrial areas. However the correlation between nitrile- degrading prokaryotes and the total toxicity value of this soils was not found.
