Differences in the microstructure of heterogeneous anion-exchange membranes after temperature exposure are visualized by AFM method. Expansion of pores and microcracks, as well as changes in the shape and geometry of the ion exchanger grains after heating, cause an increase in the geometric heterogeneity of the surface of the strongly basic membranes.
