Французские псевдоклефты в типологическом аспекте

Abstract

The article deals with a specific kind of focal constructions labeled, in the research literature, as ‘pseudo-cleft’. The theoretical description of pseudo-clefts, originally based on the English language data, encounters some difficulties when one attempts to identify this kind of constructions in other languages. The authors consider the functioning of pseudo-cleft constructions in the French language, identifying their formal features, semantic restrictions and possible interpretations.
