Abstract:	The article considers complex nonce words which are formed through conversion of two types, substantivization and adjectivization. The study is based on contemporary English novels. The main functions of complex nonce words in the text are those of saving verbal means, delivery of expressiveness and representing the author’s attitude towards the described phenomena.
