Abstract: The paper describes the method of the metal surface layer etching from the pipes and the measurement of elastic relaxation for the analysis of the residual stresses of cold-rolled stainless steel pipes. The results of the experimental determination of the residual stresses of pipes made of steel AISI 321 are given.
