Буддийская коллекция Томского областного краеведческого музея

Abstract

В статье представлены результаты атрибуции буддийских предметов из коллекции М. А. Полумордвинова, ныне хранящихся в Томском областном краеведческом музее. При описании коллекции использовалась методика визуального осмотра музейных предметов для выявления их стилевой принадлежности, шел поиск аналогов в различных коллекциях. Иконографическая принадлежность изучалась с помощью специальных определителей и каталогов буддийской скульптуры. В ходе проведенной работы была выявлена уникальность данной коллекции сразу по нескольким параметрам: по составу персонажей буддийского пантеона и пантеона даосских божеств, созданных в китайской скульптурной традиции; по вариантности стилей и школ восточного искусства, представленных в коллекции; по разнообразию материалов изготовления этих скульптур. В статье приводятся результаты проведенной классификации скульптурного собрания коллекции по странам: наибольшее количество экземпляров данной коллекции принадлежит мастерским Китая XVIII–XIX вв., однако ряд произведений коллекции относятся к искусству Тибета, Монголии и Японии. Проведенная работа показала редкую полноту и высокую значимость буддийской коллекции Томского областного краеведческого музея, а также подняла спорные вопросы, касающиеся более точного определения датировки и места изготовления некоторых рассмотренных скульптур.

The article presents attribution results of the Buddhist items of M. A. Polumordvinov’s collection which is now kept in the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local History. For the purpose of the research and to describe the collection, the author relies on the methods of visual study of the collection to define the stylistic characteristics of the items, as well as their counterparts in other collections. Their iconographic properties are studied with the help of a variety of identification guides and catalogues of Buddhist sculpture. Upon the completion of the analysis, the author concludes that the collection is unique for a number of reasons: because of the characters of the Buddhist pantheon and the pantheon of Taoist deities, created in the Chinese sculpture traditions; because of the variations of styles and schools of Oriental art present in the collection, and due to the variety of materials used to create the sculptures. The author puts forward results of the classification of the collection according to the countries the items originate from. The majority of them belongs to the Chinese workshops and dates back to the 18th and the 19th centuries. Apart from them, there are works of art from Tibet, Mongolia, and Japan. The study demonstrates that the collection of the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local History’s Buddhist Collection is unusually complete and important; it also considers a number of debatable issues that have to do with the dating of the sculptures and the places where they were created.
