Abstract

The European convention on landscapes (European Landscape Convention) has been adopted at the 718th meeting of Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (Strasbourg, on July 19, 2000), nominated to signing on October 20, 2000 at Conference of Ministers of protection of landscapes (Florence) and has come into force on March 1, 2004. The convention purpose – assistance to protection, management and planning of landscapes and the organization of the European cooperation on a perspective of landscapes. Developing new territorial culture, the Council of Europe seeks to increase quality of inhabitants from life and wellbeing. The European landscape convention is a key element of individual and social welfare, a basis of the European natural and cultural heritage, fixing originality, an originality and features of Europe. She also plays an important public role in cultural, ecological and social spheres, including in the solution of problems of employment, and at the same time serves as the main basic resource for development of many sectors of the housekeeper connected with a landscape and depending on him.
