Abstract

The article 'States of Affairs as Truthmakers in the Ontology of D. Armstrong' is a historical philosophical review of the work of the Australian thinker about a problem of ontological status of the concept of 'states of affairs' that he uses in his book 'A World of States of Affairs' published in 1997. The aim of the article is to acquaint reader with an unknown previously because of lack of translations of the works the factualist ontological theory of the philosopher. As a result of the article is a conclusion of most suitable according to the thinker truthmakers, that is the very states of affairs.

Статья является историко-философским обзором работы австралийского мыслителя о проблеме онтологического статуса понятия «положения дел», которое он использует в своей книге «Мир положений дел», изданной в 1997 г. Цель статьи - ознакомить читателя с ранее неизвестной, ввиду отсутствия переводов работ, фактуалистической онтологической теорией философа. Результатом статьи является вывод о наиболее подходящих, по мнению мыслителя, факторах истинности - самих положений дел.
