Abstract: The purpose of the present research was to allocate the key features of respiratory technique at competitive shooting in Russian biathletes of different qualifications. The research methods included analysis of scientific and methods literature sources on biathlon, video analysis of world elite biathletes' shooting, questionnaire of biathletes of different qualifications, time-study of "shooting time". Analysis of academic literature sources on biathlon, questionnaire of biathletes of different qualifications (n= 100), video analysis of shooting of the world elite in competitive conditions revealed the role, features, perspective and importance of respiratory technique at quick biathlon shooting. The role of respiration in shooting technique is great: besides support of physiological functions and stability of the "shooter-weapon" system, regulated respiration arranges intervals between shots, promotes shooting rhythm, automates athlete's actions and stabilizes the "shooting time" index. The analsys of the questionnaire of biathletes of different qualifications shown variations of respiratory algorithms or its lack. Moreover, the refuse of changes in the set stereotypes of respiratory technique of athletes (masters of sport and higher) were revealed. The video analysis of world elite biathletes' shooting revealed the advantage of the single-cycle respiratory algorithm not losing accuracy of shooting. Thus, controlling your breath, biathlete can decrease time of shooting giving him an advantage in the final result. The matters of the methods of teaching the single-cycle respiratory technique in the second phase of "shooting time" for specific competitive conditions in biathlon requires further developments approved in practice.
