Abstract: The solubility of a substitutional impurity in homogeneously deformed solid interstitial bcc- and fcc-solutions is calculated. It is shown that due to deformation in bcc-crystals both octa- and tetra-interstices are split into three types; no such effect is observed in fcc-crystals. The conditions of increased or decreased solubility under deformation are discussed. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
