Puns in Translation from English to Russian

Abstract

Статья посвящена проблеме перевода такого явления как игра слов (каламбур). В статье авторы дают чёткое определение юмору и его подтипам. Цель исследования – определить и рассмотреть ключевые препятствия для студентов при переводе игры слов, а также предложить методы решения переводческих трудностей.

This paper is devoted to the problem of translating puns (or wordplay). The authors give a clear definition of humour and its subtypes. The aim of the study is to identify and examine the key obstacles for the students when translating puns or wordplay and to describe methods of solving translation difficulties.
